President Becomes a Member of the Group of Male Leaders Who Will Create a Society in Which Women Shine

2023/04/28

Ryota Nishimori, President and CEO of CAC Holdings Corporation (the "Company"), has become a member of the Group of Male Leaders Who Will Create a Society in Which Women Shine (Secretariat: Cabinet Office). Going forward, the Company will continue to strengthen ties with male leaders in various industries across Japan, as it accelerates its efforts toward gender equality and women's empowerment.

■ The Company's initiatives to promote women’s empowerment

The CAC Group believes that diverse human resources accepting each other will lead to diverse ways of thinking and values, which in turn will enhance corporate value. Based on this belief, the CAC Group regards diversity and inclusion (D&I) as one of its key management strategies, and considers women's empowerment to be a particularly important D&I issue.

Having diverse executives to strengthen governance is crucial for implementing and monitoring diversity management. However, the Company has a low percentage of women in decision-making positions, which is an issue that needs to be addressed. First, the Company aims to promote women’s empowerment and diversity in decision-making positions. We have set a target of having women account for 30% of officers and 30% of managers by 2030. The Company will work with Group companies to achieve the target by implementing a training program for potential executives, among other initiatives.

A low utilization rate of paid leave is another issue. The Company has set a very high target of raising the annual paid leave usage to 80% by 2030. The Company has designated specific days for employees to take their annual paid leave and recommended that they take consecutive days off. The Company has also developed an app named Paid Leave Notebook, where employees are requested to enter their annual leave schedule in April. This encourages employees to take their leave in a planned manner, promoting work-life balance and contributing to D&I.
